So, you are new to digital scrapbooking?

Don´t worry. Here you get all the information you need!

What is digital scrapbooking?

Digital Scrapbooking is a way to work with your photos, decorate them, show them to your family and friends and get unique fotoalbums. Too much? Let´s start from scratch.

This is a digital scrapbooking layout of my cat, Maxi, spooning with his little teddy bear - a unique photo or?

This photo is truly a snapshot and I wanted to hang it on the wall. So the first thing I need is a digital scrapbooking kit which goes with the surrounding. You can get these kits all over the internet and here at my store. There I´ve added also some samples which go with my kits. Samples are usually very small and they go with one specific kit. So choose what fits for you.

If you got the kit you also need a photo editing programm.

Here you have endless possibilities to choose. For the beginning I recommand something simple but helpful - Scrapbook Max, e.g. . You don´t need any special knowledge and you can get started much easier. Learn more about Scrapbook Max.

Later you´ll find programms like Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro or PhotoImpact more helpful as you will be able to make your own elements and backgrounds or recolor elements you already have. But they offer more than that. I will show you in later tutorials how to make your first digital scrapbooking layout or other things - like a photobook - with Photoshop Elements.

But for beginners or people who "just want to scrap" Scrapbook Max should be your first choice. Another advantage is that it comes with lots and lots of elements and backgrounds to use and you can also add more elements and backgrounds you bought at my store.

The best programm I know for organizing your elements and backgrounds (and be sure you´ll need one *lol*) is ACDSee Photo Manager. It´s amazing how fast after starting to scrapbook you´ll have tons of stuff on your harddrive. You are lost if you don´t organize it from the beginning. Just surfing over the internet will bring tons of freebies and kits you´ve bought. With ACDSee Photo Manager you can add tags to your embellishments and backgrounds and have them organized. For example you can give a background the tag "blue, vintage, stiped" - so you find it easily when you need it. That is really helpful. I would say in average a normal scrapper has around 50-100 GB of stuff on her harddisk drive. ACDSee Photo Manager is inexpensive and you can have a 30 days trial.
